Michele Renée Ledoux is best known for using fire + wax to create primarily black and white, contemporary abstract paintings using the ancient technique of encaustic, most known for its vibrant colors. The work has a heavy sculptural aspect, features uneven surfaces, cuts, cracks and chips; and often incorporates recycled material.

The work is neutral in palette, architectural in style and organic in process and texture.

Ledoux’s work is held in numerous private collections and has been widely exhibited nationally and internationally, garnering multiple “Best of Show” awards.
