"Encaustic" is derived from the ancient greek word "enkaustikos," which means "to burn in."
This body of mixed media reflects an organic synthesis of recycled materials, solar plate method, monotype, image transfer, painting, drawing, collage and encaustic (wax) on wood panel. The work additinoally features found object framework which plays a significant role in the work.
