“[A]lchemy of align” is a new collection of work that combines original photography with two unique types of printmaking technique*: the solarplate intaglio technique and the monotype technique.
The solarplate technique is organic in that it utilizes the sun to burn the image into the plate as an alternative to using traditional printmaking methods involving harsh, toxic chemicals.
Technically, each artwork is a monoprint contained within a monotype.
Only archival paper is used.
* Both of these printmaking techniques employ non-toxic, water and soy-based permanent inks in order to ensure a completely water-based and environmentally safe printmaking process.
